From the street. Human relations in the neighborhoods of Ciutat Vella

Carme Garcia, Frederic Ballell i Pérez de Rozas

Selection of historical images from the Barcelona Photographic Archive, centring on human relations in various spaces in the neighbourhoods of Ciutat Vella: squares, markets, parks and beaches.

These photographs give pride of place to people and communities at special moments, such as popular festivals, dances and celebrations in the streets.

Particularly outstanding is the work of Carme Garcia, a pioneering photographer who portrays the rooftop world of the Gothic quarter in the 1950s and 1960s, highlighting a community where women and children play a leading role.

The exhibition is divided in a traditional exhibition format and the other part is a projection in the Convent de Sant Agustí facade from 17.30 h to 21.00 h.
