DOCfield PROFESSIONAL CONGRESS

TRUST

How to build trust

24 November 2018 at the CCCB

WHAT:

A congress for professionals of journalism, communication, culture and the third sector, to reflect on and analyse the concept of TRUST, be it in the consumption of information, in the legal system, in technology, in the familiar environment, in the market system, etc.

WHY:

TRUST is an essential value for life in society.

It is based on reciprocity and it is a basic primary pact. But, like everything valuable, it is fragile. Its disappearance always leads to a crisis of some dimension: personal, relational, political, economic… Without trust, we lose hope, making it easier for fear, suspicion, insecurity and discouragement to emerge.

An excess of trust can make us vulnerable or lead to abuse, but when trust is just and deserved, it allows us to progress as individuals and as a society.

We set out to reflect on this concept.

How is trust built? What makes us trust something or someone? Is critical trust or blind credulity possible? What are the consequences of a crisis of confidence? Is it possible to recover it?

HOW:

By attending 10 inspiring talks by professionals from different sectors that will share with us their perspective about trust.

By networking: public and speakers will have spaces for exchange throughout the congress, after each talk with times for conversation and debate, and during the breaks, over refreshments.
